A Trip to Grandma's House

Earlier this summer we had a mini Petersen family reunion at Grandma's house. We got to spend time in the mountains, feed the horses, ride four-wheelers, eat good food, and just enjoy our time together.

Grandma always makes things fun and exciting (showing Jayden and Kalin the wonders of bubble wrap).

Avalyn Rose

Our sweet little girl was born February 18th. She was a healthy 8 lbs 5 oz and has a full head of brown hair. Here she is - already 2 months old! She is smiling and cooing lots. Time is flyin!

Okay, let's start at the very beginning. Here is Avalyn in the hospital, born after almost 5 hours of labor. That morning I woke up to join Nathan and Jayden in the living room. I plopped down on the couch like it would be any other day but jumped right back up because my water broke that instant. These little angels always seem to come when you least expect it (my water broke with Jayden when I was helping a patient on the labor and delivery unit during nursing school).

Jayden just can't get enough of his new sister.
